What is BlankOn

BlankOn Linux is a Linux distribution developed by Indonesian Linux Mover Foundation (YPLI) and Community BlankOn Indonesia are suitable for the needs of computer users in general. With a philosophy of simplicity and reliability offered BlankOn Linux as a distribution, BlankOn Linux is developed openly and together to produce a typical Linux distro Indonesia.

Jakarta, June 16, 2009 - At today's official launch BlankOn BlankOn Developers version 5.0 with the release code Nanggar, culture raised on this version is the culture of the Batak, the name "Nanggar" is taken from the hobo language which means "hammer".
Several new unique features brought by Nanggar include contextual Desktop, developed by Tim BlankOn Developers, who can change the theme and desktop background image according to the computer clock or the weather conditions prevailing at that time.
Another unique feature BlankOn Nanggar Literacy project is the latest edition of the archipelago which give the ability to write and publish texts in Toba Batak script. To follow the Project please follow the link http://code.google.com/p/aksara-nusantara/
